Côme Laguë

Côme Laguë is an entrepreneur, former venture capitalist, and co-founder of Zetta Research. Côme manages the sourcing, structuring, funding and sale of patent portfolios for Zetta. Prior to Zetta, he was the founder of Nueva Ventures, one of the first “Super Angel” venture capital firms. His investments included Cloudkick, acquired by Rackspace (RAX) and W&W Communications, acquired by Cavium Networks (CAVM). As an entrepreneur, Côme founded a multinational wireless service provider in Africa, including Westel Ghana (acquired by Bharti Airtel), and a VoIP service provider, CDR International, which was bootstrapped and ran profitably for 5 years. He was also an early member of the start-up team of OQO as CFO. Côme began his career as a consultant at Monitor Company, working on engagements covering corporate strategy, market entry, post-merger integration and cost reduction in North America. Côme has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BEng in electrical and computer engineering from McGill University.

Joe Betts-Lacroix

Chief Intellectual Property Officer

Joe Betts-Lacroix is an entrepreneur, technologist and co-founder of Zetta Research. Joe manages the technical evaluation of patent portfolios, their further development under Zetta, and oversees teams of founders/inventors, patent attorneys and other consultant experts that support development through to sale. Prior to Zetta, Joe was CTO of OQO, maker of the world’s smallest Windows PC, and author of over 80 patents and applications. Zetta acquired and eventually sold OQO’s extensive patent portfolio. Joe was Chief Technology Officer of Analog Design and a user-interface inventor at IBM Almaden Research Center.  He was also head of intellectual property for Halcyon Molecular.  He presently advises 5 early stage biotech startups, and has made angel investments in others.  Joe has a Masters in Science from MIT, a BA from Harvard University, and was a Research Fellow in Biophysics at Caltech.
